Hi All: Well, we had a day with little rain, but looked like it could rain at any time all day. Windy and COLD. Probably not cold for Alaskans but was cold for Amy and I. We went to the Denali national Park Visitors Center. We had taken the 8 hour bus tour last time here and decided there wasn't anything along that road that we missed last time. The moose above was stuffed in the Visitors Center..

We had hopes of seeing Mount McKinley today, but as you can see above, This is a small mountain that is on the way to the Big one, and we cannot even see the top of this low thing that don't even have a name as far as we know.

Think I mentioned that a Tent City was here at the campground with a green bus. Above is it.. They were all around the bus this morning as someone had cooked breakfast over there. Don't know what it was though. Amy and I had talked about messing up our hair and getting a back pack and walk over and hope they would feed us, but decided we'd cook ourselves here in the Motor home where it was warm, so we did..A couple of the tents were blown over yesterday with all the wind. I think they have them stuck down now. Not sure what they all do, but think they are hikers, as all of them have back packs and walking shoes, and all of them are skinny, so they must walk off all their breakfasts????They are still here this afternoon at 1600, but none have shown up yet....

Here is the sign for the Denali Park entrance. Had to prove we were here....

Here's a shot of an "Old Goat".. NOT the one on the floor, the one on the rock!!!!They had a lot of stuffed animals throughout the visitors center at the Park...

We are near the Nenana River here and there are a lot of rafting outfits here. We got to one landing as one boat full of NUTS were taking off for a trip. River is almost ALL white water. I wanted to go on a trip, but my "Short Haired Bunky" didn't want to go....Chicken....
Harry. I will try to keep the phrases coming your way. They don't come out on purpose, so we'll just have to wait for one to pop up. The "Road To Chicken" caused Harry and a couple other folks to write a story about that little clip. It is on his Face book. Really good too. Way to go Harry....
We will be leaving here in the morning for Anchorage for 3 nights, and doing whatever in that town. Still will be in Soldotna for my fishing trip on the 30th. Going to Seward before that as the guide didn't have any opening till the 30th, so Amy had to juggle our schedule around to have us there on those dates. No problem as we really don't have a schedule until she makes the reservations a couple days in advance of our arrival. Have had no problems getting in the campgrounds we want so far. This one is pretty busy, and fills up late in the day. We have one that pulled in next to us and is so close I can almost touch the rig from our window. Don't know why some folks have to park so close. I have come to the conclusion that they have a hard time putting their 5th Wheel, or trailers where they want them, so if they get kinda in the right spot they leave it alone. I think that is it from watching some of them get settled. To bad we don't have to pass a test on driving these rigs before they let them on the highway. I've been doing it since 1966, so have gotten pretty good at it....Even this 37 foot thing with the car hooked on the back...
