Hi All: It's been a couple days since I posted a Blog. We are now in Dawson Creek. The beginning of the Alaska Highway. It's in British Columbia, Canada. We stayed in Valley View last night, and got up and got here today about 1300. Weather is beautiful today. It rained on us coming to Valley View, but cleared up and now is super. Blue skies, and hot weather. Had to switch to shorts here. Supposed to be close to 90 for the rest of the week.
We will stay here tonight and tomorrow night. Not a lot to do. Just rest time.
We went to Walmart today, then stopped at a wagon with cherries, and fruit. Bought some cherries, and a basket of peaches. Found that they came from the US. To early for them things here yet. Another week before fruit is ready here. We will be gone North by the time stuff is ready here, then gone when it is ready farther North. Seems like I just can't get to where stuff is growing. Even left my own garden before it got ripe...
All is going well, No problems at all. A little dog dumped by our step today. Neighbor came and told me about it so I would not step in it and track it in the rig, AND then Amy would either beat me or Pharaoh. I think Pharaoh would have been safe. Not supposed to be loose dogs in this campground. Need to load up the shot gun!!!!!
Not much to report. Only the photo above that shows the beginning of the Alaska Highway. Used to be called the AlCan highway. Not sure why they dropped the Canada part. Probably because they don't want to pay for it's upkeep. So now that it is called Alaska Highway the USA had to keep it up. Not sure that is the way of things. Just guessing...
You all keep checking. Won't have much to report till we get to Alaska in a few days though. Days of travelling is pretty boring. Gas is now $1.08.9 a Liter. That is about $3.60 a gallon. Getting higher as we go North.
Semper Fi
Don, Amy & Pharaoh.
