Hi All: We made it to Homer, Alaska. It is the midway of our trip, so the rest of the trip will be on the way home. Boo Hoo...We are at the Ocean view Campground where we stayed with Bob and Dorene. It's the nicest campground here we think. Some more of them are farther down on what they call the "Spit" The strip of land next to the water. We had to get a Cable Box for TV here. (Remember That Bob?) Had to hook it up to the cable system on the motor home. A little work had to be done. Got it going though, had to set the cable box on top of the sun visor on Amy's side of the rig. The WiFi is super. It's the fastest we have had, Including our Verizon Thingy, so life is good.

It's really good because I have signed up to go Halibut and Salomon Fishing tomorrow morning. Another $310. Had to buy another King Salmon Tag, and I have to be at the boat at 0630 for a 0700 departure. Will be back around 5 PM. I checked the web sights of the charters here in Homer and sent them requests for information on bookings. Sent 4 out I think, and only one responded. "Bob's Trophy Charters" If Bob was with us this time we would get a $5 discount because of the name. Any way I booked the trip. Went down and checked where it is and where the boat is. They were very friendly there, and I asked if any of the other 5 folks on this charter was under 10 years old. No one is, so it should be a better trip. Weather seems to be clearing up too, and we can see some blue sky and sunshine. They said the seas should be calm and the weather should be great tomorrow. That's good...

Above is a wondering "Don" with the red hat looking for the place the boat will be in the morning. Found the spot so I won't be wondering around lost in the morning. The boat had not returned from fishing today, so I don't know what it looks like except from the photo's on his website. Looks like a pretty new boat. 37 footer with two diesel engines and a crew of three. Any fish we catch is filleted on the way back to dock, so I plan to bring it back and clean it up and Amy will vacuum pack it and we will freeze it in our freezer. I sure hope I don't catch a 200 pound halibut, as I doubt I could get it all in this freezer, plus the King Salmon I plan to catch. Since there is no 9 year old upsetting me, I may be able to catch a fish this time without a "hand grenade"

Another shot of the harbor where all the fishing boats seem to be ready to get under way. Smell just like a fishing dock. hee hee.

There is the guy in the red hat again. Amy stayed up above the dock to take the photo's. I look like I'm trying to read my naval????
Wish me luck tomorrow. Don't want to have to book another trip to get some fish to bring home.
Semper Fi.
Don, Amy & Pharaoh.
