Hi All: We are in Palmer, Alaska now. About 285 miles north of Homer. Got here with no problems, but lots of rain. It was raining when we left Homer, and it is still raining here in Palmer. Not heavy rain, but continuous....Drizzle...
I tried to load a photo twice, but it would not load. I am on the Verizon Thingy here as they want $$$ extra to use their WiFi here. I hope I can send some words without photo's on this Blog.
We will be here three nights, and leave here for Tok, Alaska on Monday. Will be in Tok two nights I think???
Not a lot to do here in Palmer, but Amy has a few things lined up to go do. One is a U-Pick farm here....Sounds OK. I tried to send a picture of me in the middle of a Rhubarb patch in Homer, but it would not send. They told me to keep my hands out of the rhubarb.. They now make wine at this winery out of rhubarb. They mix it with other stuff, and we ended up buying 6 different bottles of their wine. It is good. I'm not a big wineO, but it was good.
We are in a real nice campground here. It has lots of trees around all the sites. Don't remember the type of tree, and Just asked Amy and she has a blank also. Has white bark, and are beautiful trees. Might be why I can't get a good signal for loading photo's...We'll see how it goes tomorrow when it's not supposed to rain....

i am still flabbergasted by the price of those paintings you saw in homer. and the two larger-than-life paintings with no price tag reminds me of a saying i used to hear in the art world: "if you have to ask the price, you cannot afford it." some snooty bastard said it, not me.
ReplyDeletewhy aren't you allowed to stick your hands in the rhubarb up there in palmer, alaska? i would sure love to, now that i know it's against the rules.
could those white-barked trees be aspens?
